Smitha Mave is an experienced engineering leader with a passion for building great products. Currently serving as an Engineering Leader at Google, Smitha has more than 16 years of relevant experience in the technology industry. Smitha's specialties include cloud computing, platform development, microservices, API development, SOA, storage, virtualization, security, and system programming. She is well-versed in a range of technologies and has a strong track record of delivering successful projects. In addition to her work at Google, Smitha has also held leadership positions at Athena Health, where she served as Director of Engineering, and Youth for Seva (YFS), where she was a Trustee. At Athena Health, Smitha was responsible for program chairing and speaking at various technical conferences, including GHCI 2012 and GHCI 2019. At YFS, she was part of a nation-wide volunteering movement that inspired youth to volunteer and provided them with meaningful opportunities to serve the community. Smitha is also a writer, speaker, and mentor. She has spoken at various technical conferences and has authored several articles on cloud computing, security, and other technology-related topics. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with others and has mentored several aspiring engineers throughout her career. Smitha holds a GMITE degree from IIM and a B.E. degree in Computer Engineering from Mangalore University. She is skilled in microservices, Amazon Athena, senior software engineering, and big data.
